LYNNE AND HAIG CELEBRATE DREAM WEDDING AT BARTON GRANGE

Forget Wills and Kate, all eyes were on Barton Grange Hotel in Barton on Sunday 26th June as Lynn Cuerden and Haig Edmonds from Penwortham, tied the knot after winning a dream wedding of the year competition.

Organised by leading wedding venue Barton Grange and the Lancashire Evening Post, the competition received hundreds of entries but the judging panel chose Lynn and Haig as the winners.

The couple were joined by 70 friends and family members for a wedding breakfast in the Barton Suite, followed by an evening buffet and reception for 130 guests.

Following the celebrations, Lynn said: "It's absolutely amazing. This has been a dream come true. The service we have received from Barton Grange has been second to none. Nothing has been too much trouble."

Ian Topping, managing director of Barton Grange Hotel commented, "When we ran the competition we had no idea that we would get such a huge response. Or that it would be so difficult to pick a winner. Having deliberated for ages we eventually settled on Lynn and Haig. Over the following months, the more we worked with them on the details the happier we became with our choice. They are a great couple and lovely to deal with.  Come the Big Day they and all their guests were a delight and we all had a great time.

"Right from the beginning Lynn said that she had a feeling that the sun was going to shine. Saturday was miserable. Sunday morning was overcast with some very gloomy clouds around. We wanted to have Pimms in the garden with Classic Ensemble playing but it kept spitting and we were unsure whether to risk it or not. Eventually we decided to think positive and set up outside. We were in the garden from 2.30 until 3.15. at 2.15 the sun finally came out. At precisely 3.17 it started spitting again! It was uncanny.

"There was a lovely moment just before the first dance. Stan and Marie Cuerden, Lynn's parents, had the floor to themselves for an Anniversary Waltz - it being their Golden Wedding next month.

"We want to thank all of our suppliers who gave up their products and services so generously. Their efforts and expertise helped may the day perfect."
