Directors raise over £14,000 for air ambulance
28th September 2006
Peter, Ian and Guy Topping from the Barton Grange Group raised over £13,000 for the North West Air Ambulance Service when they completed the Three Peaks Challenge.
The three brothers had to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Cumbria's Scafell Pike and Snowdon in Wales in less than 24 hours. They actually completed the challenge in just 21 hours and seven minutes.
Sponsored by suppliers, friends and staff of Barton Grange, the three have already raised over £14,000 for the air ambulance, with some money still coming in.
Speaking on behalf of all three brothers, Guy Topping, MD of Barton Grange Garden Centres, said: "It was hard work but we managed to smile through the pain and were delighted to complete the challenge in just over 21 hours"
"We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us and helped us to raise such a magnificent amount for a very worthy cause."
